A day of reunions, the ‘Top of the Rock’ and exploring Times Square

Up early and ready to meet Aree and her mum. All sorts of ideas about what we might do took us a few minutes walk up West57th to the Brooklyn Diner for breakfast. A shared portion of blueberry pancakes hit the spot and Aree’s mum was amazed at how comfortable her baby was with us. She’s beginning to be sociable.

The atmosphere in the Diner was fun- a few eccentrics among the waiting staff and the customers! Bottomless coffee pots and scrumptious buttermilk pancakes.

We were set for the day so made our way towards Broadway and then walked towards Times Square- which isn’t a square!!

New and Aree had not been to the ‘Top of the Rock’ and it was on our ‘to do’ list so that’s where we went: the observatory of the Rockerfeller building. No regrets – not too packed for a baby-carrying mum or for the camera-toting tourists and with great views over the New York skyline out as far as the Statue of Liberty and past our hotel to Central Park and beyond.

Sadly, by the time we had done justice to the views and made our way out of the building, It was almost time to leave New and Aree to make their way home while we made our way back to catch our breath before Holly and Hannah were due to join us. Another reunion!

A final smile before we go our separate ways! I wonder when we’ll meet again?
