Sitting in my comfortable home looking back on the three years since last I posted here I find it difficult to imagine how I let things pass me by and failed to record them. The prospect of a first visit to the US has changed that and, once again, the challenge of recording a long trip faces me.
This view along the river Dee in Chester is from a recent trip. Much of the time has been spent on the far north coast of Scotland. There have been brief visits to Wales and a river cruise in Russia as well as a week in Jordan. None have really inspired me to put my fingers to the keyboard – perhaps because, in the main, they’ve been either for ‘business’ of one kind or another, or group tours where the planning has been out of my hands.
This trip is different….. it has been a while in the planning and is providing opportunities to meet up with some who have shared times in Thailand and to meet new members of their family. I travelled to Australia in 2010 for a wedding and now I’m travelling to Michigan for a wedding. What a small world we live in!
